KFOG REVIEW: “SULLY” & “KICKS”
This week is the retelling of the real life story of the “miracle on the Hudson” aka the story of Captain Chesley “Sully” Sullenberger. It’s starring Tom Hanks and directed by Clint Eastwood, and as much as I admire both of them, I have to wonder do we really need a movie of this so soon after the real life events? Captain Sully is still around, still doing press tours, still in the zeitgeist… Hear more in the audio review.
The other film is “Kicks” which is based in my hometown of Oakland, CA. Unfortunately it’s not one of the more flattering portrayals of the area but having grown up here there are definitely elements of truth I recognized. I’m juts not sure how wider audiences are going to connect, again more in the audio review!
