KFOG REVIEW: “TRANSFORMERS: THE LAST KNIGHT” & “THE BAD BATCH”
Michael Bay is back with the 5th Transformers movie, “Transformers: The Last Knight”, and oh what a movie it is. This week also brings “The Bad Batch” from director/writer Ana Lily Amirpour.
Spectacle is certainly one way to describe “Transformers: The Last Knight” though that isn’t necessarily a good thing. I don’t think they knew whether they wanted to be a Monty Python farce or an action movie. Mark Wahlberg and Josh Duhamel return, and are joined by newcomers to the franchise Laura Haddock, Jerrod Carmichael, Isabela Moner and Sir Anthony Hopkins. Yes, you read that right, Sir Anthony Hopkins.
“The Bad Batch” is the second feature from Ana Lily Amirpour (who directed “A Girl Walks Home Alone At Night”). It stars Suki Waterhouse, Jason Momoa, Keanu Reeves, Diego Luna, Giovanni Ribsi, and Jim Carrey and is an unexpected (and unapologetic) look at a society that could easily be ours soon.
