REVIEW: “THE PREDATOR” & “A SIMPLE FAVOR”
This week is … an entry into the “Predator” franchise that I suppose is passable, as well as the dramatic twisty-turny friendship thriller, “A Simple Favor.”
While I didn’t have a bad time watching “The Predator” I think hardcore fans of the franchise may leave a smidge disappointed. The good thing is you don’t have to have an extensive knowledge of the “Predator” universe to have a decent-ish time. The film stars Olivia Munn, Boyd Holbrook, Trevante Rhodes, Jacob Tremblay, Keegan-Michael Key, Thomas Jane, Sterling K. Brown, Alfie Allen, and Yvonne Strahovski.
Meanwhile I thought “A Simple Favor” was going to be awful, but I was pleasantly surprise. The film certainly has issues but I still enjoyed the ride (even if it was slightly whiplash inducing). Blake Lively, Anna Kendrick, and Henry Golding star. Paul Feig makes his directorial dip into the drama pool with the film as well.
